Majority of the people, Muslims and Non-Muslims have a bad past where they lived life not caring about the consequences of their actions. Some realise their purpose and so change their lives in a way that will please Allah, while others still remain in the dark. So firstly Alhumdulilah for Allah to save us.

"And He found you lost and guided [you]..." (Qur'an 93:7)

"Will Allah forgive me?", "Will Allah allow me a fresh start?", "Will Allah love me?"

The plain and simple answer to all is YES! In sha Allah He will my brother. There is plenty of evidence in the Qur'an and the Adhaith which tells us Allah loves those who repent and indeed He loves to forgive, afterall He is Al-Ghafour, Al-Ghaffar - The Most Forgiving, The Repeatedly Forgiving -

“Say: O ‘Ibaadi (My slaves) who have transgressed against themselves (by committing evil deeds and sins)! Despair not of the Mercy of Allaah, verily, Allaah forgives all sins. Truly, He is Oft‑Forgiving, Most Merciful”

[al-Zumar 39:53].

Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

If a person repents sincerely, his previous bad deeds will be erased and the reward for his good deeds will be restored for him.

End quote from al-Waabil as-Sayyib, p. 12

“Allah accepts only the repentance of those who do evil in ignorance and foolishness and repent soon afterwards; it is they to whom Allah will forgive and Allah is Ever All-Knower, All-Wise”

[an-Nisa’ 4:17],

“And those who, when they have committed Fahishah (illegal sexual intercourse etc.) or wronged themselves with evil, remember Allah and ask forgiveness for their sins; - and none can forgive sins but Allah - and do not persist in what (wrong) they have done, while they know”

[Aal ‘Imraan 3:135]

Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) says, “I heard the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) say,

Allah stated: O son of Adam! I will forgive your sins no matter how many you have committed irrespective of their greatness as long as you pray to me and you expect forgiveness from me. O son of Adam! I will forgive you even if your sins are so many as to fill the skies if you ask forgiveness from me. O son of Adam! If you come to me with so many sins as to fill the earth, I will welcome you with so much mercy as to fill the earth if you have not associated partners with me.” [Tirmidhi Daawat 98]

You take one step towards Allah and He takes ten steps towards you. You walk to Allah and He runs to you. Don't ever think Allah won't forgive your sins, that's what Shaytaan wants you to think.

Keep repenting like we should do no matter how practising we become. Our Prophet Muhammad (sal Allahu Alayhi Wasallam) used to ask for forgiveness, yet he was the best of men! So we should keep asking for forgiveness for sins we do know knowingly and unknowingly, in the public and in the private.
